The file that I created does everything!

I ran a few reports....I know what percentage we ran each play! I can watch the video and we are ready to start teaching next years teach using this video...the next step is for me to hook a DVD up to the TV and I will make a recording of each play that we ran in a season and only those particular plays...best thing, no cost to the Parkview Football Program!!!

I put a post on GAVSV.com

I have put a post on the GAVSV.com youth pages in an attempt to get people to contact me and hopefully set up sessions to allow them to integrate this technology into their daily practice plan or weekly coaches meetings! I have already met with a few coaches and they are extremely excited about using the process!

I have created a new window for making tagging clips even better!!!

I am taking this to the next level! I have 3 different workbooks open and have set up a process that can enable a coach to look at tags from a game play by play...the possibilities are limitless and still NO PURCHASE price...if you are reading this blog then you have the capabilities to run this process!

Notice the top window...that is for sorting plays, the bottom two are for tagging the offense on the right and the defense on the left...the black page in the middle is running video of a play! Just like the pros! Email me at robert@rthill3.com

Met with coach from Mountain Park

I am looking forward to setting up a meeting with the Mt Park Panthers Football coaches! I met today with a coach of one of the teams to show him how to work the system that I have enabled...the positive thing to me is that this particular coach is very computer literate. He was impressed and eagar to learn more! Hopefully, I will be able to get in touch with all the coaches and the teaching tool will be initialized park wide. The solution will present coaches with a learning environment they never thought as cost available on their level....for coaches of any level, the application of the process will enable them to view game indexed plays that are tagged with their own tags and best of all...no purchase required!!!

I have even more additions

I have now removed the row and column headsings, added an additional workbook to the process!  I am in the process of creating files that will teach someone else how to complete all these steps.  I think the next thing to do is to create template files out of all this so it will be even easier to let someone else do what I have figured out for nothing!

FTP transfer using Filezilla

Last night I tried put all our video on to an account I own at Ipower...first I used just the windows ftp protocol on my computer...then I loaded Filezilla....the lowest exchange rate I could get was at the present speed it was going to take 58 days to upload the video! I have all the files on an WD passport external drive and didn't think about how long that would take....I am going to try and upload the video to the internet later today...also, I have a new format...opens two different excel workbooks and windows media player! Awesome!

Sending a post from my email address

The two latest coaches I have talked to are Steve Brooks from Oconee County by way of Clarke Central and Parkview High School.  Set up a meeting with him and Coach Tracy Malone from Alabama, who also coached at Grayson High School.  I am looking forward to showing them how easy editing and tagging football plays can be....I have also been playing with new media players...not just WMP...Zoom it! is my latest and it is really more adaptably than Windows media player...I look forward to talk to you about what we can do to make your videos more useful!

Tagging files is very easy

I open up and excel document and tag the files using headers that I chose. Presently, I am tagging plays as offense/defense/special teams/junk. I needed the "junk" tag to have a way to take out penalties, scoreboard shots, etc. Next, I added Run/Pass/Kickoff/Kickoff Returns etc...then the type of pass or run. I think AutoFilter the heading I want and the plays I need are sorted accordingly.

I also have figured out how to keep the excel file up and on my desktop while the video runs on a TV that is connected to the laptop (Fn+F7)!

The application of two programs that are already on most computers means the price of using these applications is $0! The next think I am going to do is to figure out how to store the video on a server and link to it that way!

Look at what I can create using hyperlinks

Do this for FREE!!!

Football programs pay $1000's for this knowledge! Video editing and purchasing very expensive software is unnecessary!

Email me at robert@rthill3.com we will set up a time where I can teach you to do the same thing those guys do for much less!

How to create a txt file that you can use in excel

If you are interested in finding out more...email me at robert@rthill3.com! I have figured out how to use excel and index a unlimited number of files in just a few clicks....
The application of doing this are unlimited! I have already used it with video files, audio files and word documents...I plan on using the process to index lesson that I teach and link them to a calendar of dates that I created.

The general idea is to create a test, make a txt file of filenames and create a hyperlink to that file...it works great!

Here are the first few steps to creating the txt file...
Goto the Start menu and click on run...

Run a command and then switch to the drive and directory where the files are located...

Email me at robert@rthill3.com and we will set up a time for me to talk you through the process..it is not very hard and you will be very pleased with the results...I guarntee it!!!

Talked with Coach Eric Godfree

I have made contact with the Coach of Loganville High School, Coach Eric Godfree. I am very excited about showing him how much better the system I will be using is than the Landro Video Editing System. The system I am going to show him is more versitle, faster and easier to use as a teaching tool!

He is going to be blown away at the how easy using the system is....I have also talked to Bill Stewart of Etowah High School and he is not interested because he has a very expensive system...the solution that I have will cost almost nothing!

Trying out some new Youtube Videos

Check out my website

I have created a website to try and help get this information out! The website is
www.qande.rthill3.com, please feel free to visit the site and find out more about this great and simple solution to a VERY EXPENSIVE PROCESS!

I used my solution to create a video review for tests

In the past, I have used a wireless microphone and recording device to save and post exam and test reviews....

Now I can quickly index all my files and I am in the process of creating the same type of solution for my chapter tests!

Day 1 - Introducing an amazingly simple solution

I am very excited about starting this blog and helping coaches become more aware of the amazingly simple solution to video editing. Coach Todd Salo of Parkview High School is probably the real "brains" behind the idea.

For years, I have been trying to figure out how to use Microsoft Excel and Windows Media Player to solve a very expensive solution for Parkview Football. Coach Salo opened the door for my solution!

For the past few weeks, I have been developing and fixing my files...I am finally done! I want to now teach others what I know.

The solution, is simple, it can potentially save us $1000's! We will start indexing and saving quick retrieval of all our game videos. In years past, we have done it manually or with paper and pencil. Now, we can use these amazing new files to help us WIN MORE GAMES!!!
